UNDP Assistant Administrator will participate in press-conference at Astana Economic Forum

Representatives of the media are kindly invited to attend a press-conference at the Astana Economic Forum with the United Nations (UN) Assistant Secretary-General, UN Development Programme (UNDP) Assistant Administrator, and Director of the Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS (RBEC), Ms. Cihan Sultanoglu. Previously, she served as the Director of Human Resources of UNDP. Ms. Sultanoglu also served as Deputy Regional Director of RBEC, (2007-2010); UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Belarus (2004-2007), and Lithuania (2000-2005).

During the press conference, Ms. Sultanoglu will speak about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ratified by Member States of the UN in 2015, and how the UN/UNDP can support the implementation of the SDGs in Kazakhstan, including through promotion of the Green Economy agenda. Ms. Sultanoglu will make a reference to the UNDP 50th anniversary, and UNDP’s contribution to sustainable and inclusive development in Kazakhstan during the past 23 years of its operation in the country.

  • A professional civil service for the successful implementation of institutional reforms” is co-organized by the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Kazakhstan, and the Regional Hub of Civil Service in Astana in partnership with UNDP. The main focus of the event is on promoting civil service excellence in Kazakhstan, and sharing of best practices and experiences.  (26 May, 09:00-10:20, Ceremonial Hall 1)
