Social Good Summit in KazakhstanSep 18, 2013
For the 2-nd time Kazakhstan will host Social Good Summit. This year's summit will focus on discussing innovative solutions and use of social media for development, with more close look on the issues identified during national consultations on post-2015 and searching solutions for those issues.
This year's summit will also have a broader scope -- it will be held in Astana, the Capital and Semey. We want to hear from people living in the center of the country, as well as those living in the regions.
The 2013 Social Good Summit will continue the conversation launched during Kazakhstan’s National Consultations and take the next step in the post-2015 development process. The consultations engaged civil society organizations, youth organizations, government representatives, academics, local communities, vulnerable groups and the private sector in an inclusive dialogue on the most pressing development challenges for Kazakhstan. Building on the momentum of the consultations’ all-encompassing approach, this year’s Social Good Summit will connect development experts, innovative business leaders, and NGO representatives with an online and in-person audience to explore the use of social media and new technologies in projects paving the way for post-2015 development.
The discussions during the summit will accordingly address the issue areas identified during the National Consultations and the preliminary results for Kazakhstan in the MY World Survey, aiming to propose solutions using cutting-edge technology and social media for the future Kazakhstan’s citizens want to realize.
