Kazakhstan shares experience with specialists from Turkmenistan in South-South cooperationJul 4, 2016Within the South-South experience exchange program, Turkmenistan delegation visited Kazakhstan from 17 to 26 July 2016. The study tour was organized for 17 professionals, among them representatives of the Turkmen Parliament, Government and other governmental bodies working in the area of agriculture, as well as the Adaptation Fund experts. The main focus of the tour was to learn the methods and techniques of water and land resources management, including the efficient use of resources in irrigated agriculture and crop rehabilitation in a changing climate.
Russian and Kazakh experts discuss transboundary water cooperationJun 24, 2016Astana 2016- On June 23-24, 2016 Russian and Kazakh experts met in Astana to discuss the first results of assessments of transboundary rivers Ural and Kigac. Final results will be presented at the annual meeting of Russian-Kazakh Intergovernmental Commission on Joint Use and Protection of Transboundary Water Courses in autumn of 2016. If deemed necessary by both countries, it may lead to new arrangements on how to manage and share water resources in two basins.
